The natural beauty and geography that make Port Townsend a unique place
to live are the ones we need to protect in order to share it with
our children. This is a both a working community and tourist destination,
and so is tightly knit and very social. Because of both a small population
and infinite variety of characters, many groups and organizations
have sprouted and there is something going on for just about any interest.
To help you, there is a Welcome Service for informing recent residents
and the Economic
Development Council for assisting businesses operating in
Port Townsend. You'll find a high number of self-employed and
small businesses in the area. Retirees here become involved in
both paid employment and as volunteers. Families have wonderful
parks and a number of educational options. The Port Townsend Chamber
of Commerce can provide a Relocation Packet by mail, if you
require printed materials.
